Activities include Climbing, High and Low Ropes, Scramble Net, Mountain Biking, Mountain Boarding, Problem Solving, Orienteering and Archery. The newest facility is the Harlow Climbing Wall.
Three new town Secondary Schools have closed since Harlow was built,
Latton Bush Comprehensive, now a Business Centre ,
Netteswell Comprehensive, now the site of Harlow College and Anglia Ruskin University Centre
Plus the newest Secondary school to close, Brays Grove Comprehensive.
The official stance of Essex County Council was falling pupil numbers.
Brays Grove Comprehensive was modernized then renamed Passmores Academy.
The area of Harlow that Passmores Academy was named after is not near it's new site.
The old Passmores Comprehensive school remains boarded up.
Harlow Hockey Club that had all the facilities needed to play hockey at the old Passmores Comprehensive site, now finds it's self practising & playing home matches outside Harlow.
Confused? I am, as thousands more homes are planned to be built in Harlow, plus a baby boom is taking place......
It could be it's back to temporary classrooms, boiling hot in summer and freezing in winter, or to put it another way, day dreaming and falling asleep in the heat, then sitting with a coat on in the winter wishing the lesson would end soon, that went for teachers and pupils alike.
I think in my Harlow school, "temporary" was around 30 years!
