Harlow Pub strange names

When Harlow new town was being built the concept was to build the areas like villages, with a school, church, and a pub.
It was thought that the pubs needed a theme, Baron Taylor of Harlow was on the organising committee, he suggested naming the pubs after British butterflies and moths, his idea was taken up, it was so popular that a pub outside Harlow took up the theme, Miller and Carter pub was once the Sun & Whalebone, when it was taken over the new owners called it the Gatekeeper after a butterfly, they have now changed to Miller and Carter.
